PRESIDENT NWH & ASSOCIATES Norman W. Harrington, Jr. has been engaged in providing management consultant services to organizations for over twenty-five years. Mr. Harrington received his Master Business Administration from the Carlson School of Management in 2005, and graduated with honors and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Morris Brown College. In June 2004, Harrington launched NWH & Associates, a consulting firm that specializes in providing training and consulting services to businesses, non profits and faith-based organizations. These services include: strategic business development and planning; capital acquisition assistance; financial management; minority and women business development; fund raising and development assistance; and general business advisory services. In addition to consulting services, Harrington conducts workshops and seminars on various businesses and not for profit management topics. Harrington’s approach to consulting incorporates both an understanding of the psychology of social and business entrepreneurs; with the balance of developing and executing strategies based on a clear understanding of the market. He realizes that passion fuels the vision, however, a strong foundation and infrastructure makes it a reality. Additionally, the disciplines of governance, planning, execution, financial management, marketing and management are keys to successfully building a strong organization that delivers value to its stakeholders and customers. Value creation is not only measurable, but the driver for sustained growth and profitability. Prior to establishing his consulting practice, Mr. Harrington served as development officer for The Saint Paul Foundation, SpectrumTrust, a family of endowments targeting emerging markets, the Asian, Hispanic, African/African American and Native American communities. Mr. Harrington served as vice president of sales and marketing and principal owner of The Carrot Company, a travel and event management and business incentive company prior to joining the foundation. His experience also includes serving as vice president of Dallas Beecher Construction Company and vice president and senior consultant of the Entrepreneurial Services Division of Ralph G. Moore & Associates (RGMA). Harrington is a member of South African Minnesota Business Council, Boltcutters Ministries International, CEMBA Advisory Board of the Carlson School of Management, Urban Financial Services Coalition, Minnesota Chapter and Minnesota Blacks In Philanthropy, a Chapter of National Association Black Foundation Executives and Pan African Business Alliance.
